About Blaine
William “Blaine” Whitworth was born in Houston, Texas on February 21, 1987. Blaine was one of those people that everyone knew and if he was in the room, you knew he was there making things happen. Over the course of his life, Blaine did a little bit of everything - farming, community action, entrepreneurship, cage fighting, and more. Blaine was dedicated to helping others and making a difference in his community.
On September 1, 2012, Blaine’s life was tragically taken. He was murdered at his home in the driveway and the lives of his family and so many others were changed forever. Today, the Blaine Whitworth Foundation exists to keep Blaine's memory alive and continue doing the work he started.

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, we have now endowed our third scholarship, the Blaine Whitworth Greek Life Community Service Scholarship with the UCM Foundation. Our biggest accomplishment this year was finishing our project of converting a tennis court at the Garden City Park to two pickle ball courts. We had our official Ribbon Cutting and Dedication on September 3th . We also began our next project of converting three tennis courts at Grover Park in Warrensburg to six pickle ball courts. This project is being done with the Warrensburg Parks & Recreation Department. We anticipate this project to be completed in spring, 2024. Additionally, we continued our support and have donated to Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Project Community Connect, COS4Hope, Warrensburg Main Street; providing four scholarships to seniors at Sherwood High School; donating to the Sherwood Wrestling Team; providing blankets at Christmas to the Garden City Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry; donating to a family in need; providing sponsorships to Warrensburg Public School Foundation; Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce and Sherwood Booster Club as hole sponsors in their golf tournaments.
The activities we support are in conjunction with our three main goals to support entrepreneurship through scholarships; promote sports and recreation and lending a hand up to those in need.
